Visiting Marianne McCann’s Shop

Remember I went to see Holocluck Henley’s gallery in Bay City? Well as I rarely get to Bay City (and when I do it’s as empty as everywhere else in SL – something I’m getting a tad sick off) I thought I’d pay a visit to Marianne McCann’s store as she’d just blogged about it and her construction site herself. I have to say I *loved* the building site – genius building! And if you in any way love the games of your childhood, you must go to her store and have a look round – she has everything you need to feed the child inside*!

* Not that I mean to imply you’ve eaten a child and it is hungry – that is just… yuk! You weirdo cannibal! 😀

Visiting Holocluck Henly’s Gallery

How did I meet Holocluck? I *think* through the 5th anniversary celebration for Nova Albion, but even if not I’m glad I did. Armed with a dry sense of humour set firmly to stun, this Bay City resident and fellow twitterer but also a very talented comic artist (is that right term?). I took a tootle around his Bay City gallery with also-great-artist Enjah and this is what we saw. Go there now and read his blog here! 😀

SL Peeps: Tafabo Lilliehook

Waaaaaaaay back in the mists of time (early ’07 I guess*) when I was beginning to drift away from Murray for the first (but not last) time, there were a lot of new faces around and I didn’t get to know them all. Tafabo was one of these peeps. She’s always been a friend of a friend (Alph, Pinks, etc.) but never on my friends list and it’s only recenly I’ve got to speak with her much beyond Hi & Bye! Now I’m only too sad we never had time together before.
Catching up with Tafabo
Here we are in Clementine, location of my most recent road trip post, catching up and chatting away – it was a lovely evening 🙂

* I work with a teenager and her notion of Old Skool music stops in 1990. I always thought it was Elvis.

SL Peeps: Alba Uriza

Being involved in The Show Must Go On is wonderful for a great deal of reasons, not least of which is I get to meet some incredibly talented, creative, generous and funny people. I’ll be featuring more of TSMGO crowd over the coming months, but for now I’d like you all to meet Alba Uriza.
Alba on her ace bike

I met Alba at the rehearsal for mini-show in Dreams a few weeks ago. As we were not showing a full set of acts, there were gaps we had to fill creatively and I’d mentioned to Osprey a while before about having a sort of ‘Rodeo Clown’ act that any free performers could do to entertain the crowd in between acts. I forgot to take this further with her and knowing how busy she is assumed she’d forgotten too – oh me of little faith! When Alba asked if there was anything she could do to help, Os right away got her entertaining the audience with her tiny acrobatics and all round cuteness and the crowd loved her!

During shows, Alba and I tend to end up in the same spot in the wings and we always have a great giggle together throughout the show – I hope we have lots more shows together 🙂

SL Peeps: Nica Pennell

Ever since I became half-gazelle that fateful day I found the backpack in Kahruvel I have been alone. Before you all burst into tears and organise a benefit concert for me, I don’t mean lonely, just alone. Apart. Singular. The Only Gazelle In The Village, if you will. I’ve longed to meet another of my kind, to have the chance to chat about being part gazelle but long ago feared it would never be. So imagine, dear reader, my delight when I received a pair of hooves and a lovely message from Nica Pennell who, although now a satyr, was once a half-gazelle like me!

The very next chance we got, we met up in-world with Nica TPing me to a lovely rock on the plains under the hanging palaces of delight that make up the amazing stores of Grendel’s Children. Unfortunately I was on my poor, tired old laptop so couldn’t take a great deal of photos (I crashed out at least twice and frequently had FPS of 1-5).
Nica Pennell

Nica had made the hooves a while back and I think they look pretty darn good on the end of my feet – although I won’t be adding them to my gazelle body but rather to my posh black talbuk-in-a-tux body to replace my smart shoes… after all, hooves are much better than shoes for dancing in 🙂
Chatting with Nica Pennell

Nica is, as I said, a satyr and if you meet her, you must ask about her family and tribal history as it puts my efforts to write a convincing back story into the shade, I can tell you – it’s riveting!

I hope to go back to the Avarian lands soon, this time on my PC so I can take some snaps and hopefully spend some less crashy time with Nica. After all, we horned ones simply must stick together – there are wolves out there, you know…

Latok Neumann

I don’t really know Latok but have seen her at the odd CNN meeting but her av is another great example of just how amazing SL can look when people take care over their avs – and windlight helps too 🙂

SL Peeps: Ilianexsi Sojourner

Not only is Ilianexsi Sojourner gorgeous, funny, a fellow red-head AND an explorer, she is also a be-horned one! In my book she’s the apex of avatardom and I’ll damn the eyes of anyone who disagrees 🙂

SL Peeps: Capulet Vendetta

I met Capulet at Osprey’s awards for the Scale photo contest and he struck me immediately with his beautiful, old skin. Age is something so rarely seen in here that it’s a breath of fresh air when it is – after all, don’t we all get bored being 25 and beautiful all the bloody time?

Singing Sinatra on the Terrific Titanic

Waaaay back in the mists of time (about a month) I visited Sinatra Cartier’s Spook House ghost train ride in Noyo and found it most excellent 🙂 Even more excellent was Sinatra’s singing voice as both a RL and SL Frank Sinatra impersonator. Don’t believe this old Burro – well more fool you, go here and listen yourself.

After talking to Sinatra and listening to his singing, I knew I had to see him perform. UK to LA is a little hard for me right now, but who needs the hassle of RL travel when I can teleport right to him in SL? So last week saw me send out a general call to all Backpacking Burros to come join me at Sinatra’s latest gig, this time aboard the RMS Titanic!

Although my old laptop (now replaced) nearly exploded three times, I still managed to really enjoy the night – Sinatra was on wonderful form and my dances with Janey and Osprey (but sadly not Nyx who I lost in the crowd and frequent crashes, which also robbed me of any pics of dancing with Os!) were delightful 🙂

Here is Janey looking elegant and lovely

Dancing to Sinatra on the Titanic – anyone still needing a reason for SL to exist should go read a book, they will simply never get it 😀

SL Peeps: Affinity Dreamscape

Lovely fella. Or lass. Anyhoo, lovely – great av(s) and always nice to see someone in Murray not there to grief 🙂
