SL on hold again.

Right. We’ve all been here before so I’m not going to bore you with details, suffice to say SL is once again proving to be a total twat and I’m just not enjoying the misery of trying to log in only to see grey boxes everywhere. I’m not logging back in for a bit and I’m not blogging about it either – the whole bubblefuck can can fall off a very steep fucking cliff for all I care. I’ll stick to Left 4 Dead 2 for now because at least that fucking well works and is fun.

Any RP I’m involved in, well consider me on hold. Email me if you want to otherwise I’ll try again in August.

Rosedale – As Camp As Christmas. In Easter.

At the same time I visited Kapor, I popped next door to Rosedale where Naughty Mole had been equally busy remodelling and dressing the sim in an amazingly OTT & fun Easter theme. Never let it be said that Kapor & Rosedale are boring empty spaces any more – or subdued and tastefully decorated :-D Fun was Naughty Mole’s aim and she hit it dead on :)

The link between Kapor and Rosedale lies over a series of stepping stones in front of a waterfall and under a rainbow. Kansas this ain’t, Toto ;-D

Whilst Kapor has bunnehs, Rosedale has chicky chicks and boy they are soooo cute!

Even though Rosedale is largely as camp as Kapor, the eggs and balloons begin to peter out towards the northern border and it becomes quite lovely and peaceful build (which shows Naughty’s range quite well I think).

And the Lighthouse is just lovely!

Get yourself over to Rosedale and see for yourself – remember, these sims are SL history guys ;-)

Easter Eggs in Kapor

Y’know how the Moles have been working over in Kapor?
Kapor_001

Well I’ve been popping back to see what they’ve been up to and back in March Naughty Mole finished her work there (as well as in neigbouring Rosedale – more of that in a future post) and it’s very different from her work in Murray. In place of Murray’s seaside charm she’s slapped on a thick layer of camp Easter fun…

The eggs and lolipops are clickable for wearable goodies and the bunnies are hoppy floppy cute :)

But best of all are the rideable egg-balloon things – there is simply no macho way of sitting on them :-D

Get yourself over there and have a poke about – it’s good, clean, silly fun and who doesn’t need some of that every now and then, eh?

Back to Oz…

Steelhead is a very social place with a regular calendar of events such as town hall meetings, story & poetry readings, dances and special, themed parties. A recent theme was a tribute to L. Frank Baum, the writer of The Wizard of Oz and high above Shanghai Lunar & Tensai has created a wonderful floating Emerald City for the event. I couldn’t go to the dance itself, my UK timezone doesn’t fit with Steelhead’s adopted PST/SLT, but I was invited to see the build a few hours before and it was bloody gorgeous!

Airships over Cowell…

A few weeks back I took a trip out to Cowell (I have a home there, after all) to look at the damage left after a recent flood.
Cowell_001

I stood admiring Sal & Champie’s work when a twin-prop passenger plane from Abbott’s flew overhead. As I squinted up into the bright sky I gasped out loud at the sight that greeted me behind the community centre – a truly huge airship was moored between the buildings like some great red whale bobbing in balmy ocean currents.

I made my way through the stone streets, over the canal bridge and through the winding maze of alleyways and cut-throughs until I was stood a few feet from the nose – this thing was just massive!

I walked up through the community building and out onto the balcony next to the ship’s cockpit – it was as beautiful as the rest of the ship, a steampunk labour of love in wood and brass. I just had to get in!

I couldn’t fly it as it was locked down to its owner (one Messer Salazar Jack I believe) but if you’d like to know more, and maybe buy one yourself, then check out Cubey Terra’s blog here, have a looksee at his page on XStreet here or pop over to Abbott’s Aerodrome in-world. Happy flying!
