The Burro has IT Woes

Just a quickie – my faithful (but shite) old laptop died last week and as I used that to pop in rather than my big old PC I’ve not been in much. No matter though, I still have the big old PC, don’t I. That is until the monitor ‘popped’ in the middle of Saturday’s TSMGO rehearsals. 0_o

No way of getting in world. ARGH!

The good news is I have bought a new lappy and new monitor so should be back very soon (it’ll take me a night or two to set up the lappy and a home network hard drive – bear with me).

In the meantime, I still have email and twitter on my beautiful wee phone (pleasedontbreakpleasedontbreakpleasedontbreak) so am not entirely cast adrift :)

Nova Albion 5th Anniversary – Photos!

Nova Albion LogoI made it with three minutes to spare and everywhere was full so it was, to put it mildly, hard work moving and seeing but that didn’t dampen the atmosphere any and the parade through Nova Albion was a huge laugh! This pic was taken at the border on Luna where the parade ended up – we were noisy, big and setting fireworks off with a vengeance :-D

I went round on good old Frank because my dear old float was borked by lag…

Other people had more luck with even magallen showing up… sort of :-D

Blogs I lurve: Nish’s Big Orange One!

I’m a bugger for badgering people into starting blogs just so I’ll have more stuff to read (come on Neal – give in!) but I can’t claim credit for the great news that my mate Nish has started up one. She’s about to embark on a huge tour of the oldest mainland continents and you should head over and follow her from the start. Go Nish, you star!

Read Nish’s blog, The Big Orange One, here.

Dharlinks! I love it!

Lady Heady Face 2 Oh my dharlinks! That delicious demon man Dr Darien Mason has recorded his sweet husky voice reading from what I can only describe as both  a lost masterpiece and a hideous act of plagerism! For this work, this magnificent work is nothing but a blatant re-telling of my 1956 novel “The Slattern Needs Seamen!” which, rather like Captain Hip Shank’s vessel, sank without a trace due to a very poor choice of publisher on the part of my then fourth husband. Anyways Dhalrlinks, you simply must listen to the ravishing Dr Mason saying “her sex was a rainforest” – I guarantee that won’t be the only moist thing by the end MWAH!

Nova Albion 5th Anniversary – This Weekend!

Ooooo I am so late with this! I’ve taken my eye right off the ball and not told you, my loyal reader, about the great news that not only is Nova Albion city five years old on Monday 23rd March, but there is to be another parade! For those of you who missed the parade last year, you can catch up here. But the best way to experience the fun of the parade is to be in it!

NOVA-ALBION_invitation

You can get a free float base to build your float on underneath the arch in Grignano – you’ll also find posters and flags there. The parade starts at 12noon and this is the route.

Burro on a Quest!

My mate Nish is not only rather gorgeous (she is!) but also bloody talented (she is!) and managed to find time to build not only several steam trains, a great steam mover and a cracking Burning Life 08 build, but also a rather spiffy multi-use explorer’s vehicle. And I have one!

The Quest 1 is an amazing vehicle every explorer in SL should have! From the comic Nish has made to advertise her creation…

…to the box it comes in…

Nish's Quest 1

…Nish has put together a great package that can do just about everything… including dealing out a good cup of tea :)

Here I am after I opened the box and the wondrous bounty within popped out (via a rezzing from my inventory – blimey! work with me here, people!)
Nish's Quest 1

Nish's Quest 1

The heart of a Quest 1 is a gorgeous leather couch which sits three people, backed with a well stocked desk that will cater to the needs of even the most demanding explorer. The desk gives out tea, displays maps of SL continents and even plays some cracking music so you can dance away the stresses of exploring :)

The couch is very comfy indeed…

…and it is from here that the driver can navigate, steer, change gear and much more! For instance, if you have to go underwater but don’t want to get your smoking jacket wet, just pop up the watertight canopy!

…or if you want to cross a mountain range without getting your wheels dirty, then fly!
Nish's Quest 1

The Quest 1 has a metric ton of features and you really need to take one out for spin – pop over to Nish’s Xstreet page and treat yourself!

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to try this little beauty out on a railway. Oh yes! It can do train tracks as well… :-D

The Show Went On in Raglan

Saturday the 14th March was the first show in the new 2009 line up and what a success! Well, if you discount the terrible lag ruining the first half and take into consideration the horrible deaths of all my brave, dear fleas, then it was a success.

The wonderful inhabitants of Raglan Shire have always been the greatest of friends to The Show Must Go On, and they proved once again just how much they love our humble efforts to entertain with dance, song and comedy. And fleas, of course.

Osprey had parked the theatre a few days earlier…
TSMGO in Raglan Shire, 14th March 2009

And it soon began to fill up with the cutest furry friends I’ve ever seen! Oh, and quite a few hoomans too :-D
TSMGO in Raglan Shire, 14th March 2009

We poor performers were bags of nerves behind the scenes, let me tell you!
TSMGO in Raglan Shire, 14th March 2009

A hush descended upon the audience as the show began…
TSMGO in Raglan Shire, 14th March 2009

As I’m sure you will understand, I was unable to take any more photos until the very end when the wonder of shindig managed to take my mind of the deaths of my fleas for a few minutes…

Before the stage floor gave way and many of us plummeted 2000m to the town below…

But a quick TP saw me back in the theatre where many of the upset tinies crowded around me to offer me their sympathies and assure me they would look for new fleas I could train.
TSMGO in Raglan Shire, 14th March 2009

A huge thank you to all our TSMGO fans in Raglan for having us again and a similarly massive thank you to all our fans who came to see the show – we hope you will come again throughout the year to see other acts we will be adding. Don’t forget to check the TSMGO blog for more details. And a big fat thanks to all the show’s performers who were just brilliant and professional on the night, a night which saw lag all but eat us alive and all my lovely fleas killed in horrible ways… *sobs*

Two videos about creation

I have Osprey and Young to thank for these beauties:

A printer takes a life, and a voice, of its own

and

A man creates a world for his love

I would love to be around long enough to see the sort of technology that the second portrays – it actually made me want to attempt to build a city in SL, something nothing but Cowell has ever managed to do (given how hard I find building and how little time I’d have to do it).

p.s. I’m only posting links because embedded videos cause my phone browser to crash – and I’d rather like to use my own phone to see my own blog, ta very much :) Come on Adobe, pull yer collective thumbs out of your collective arses and sort mobile flash out you turnips.

The Wonder(s) of Raoul

@Osprey “You are now following RaoulsBuns.” Well duh.

@Enjah Naturally! How could our eyes resist those sculpted buttocks?

LOL! You too can follow the wondrous bumcakes of everyone’s favourite dumb hunk here.
